Methinks boomers are driving more than earlier generations of older adults.
Here's why:
1.Boomers are living longer and are more healthy than previous generations of older adults, so they can drive more.
2.Boomers are wealthier than young generations, and wealthier than previous generations of older adults (who used to be the poorest generation in society), so they can afford to drive more.
3.Boomers have a wider geographic world view than previous generations of older adults.
So traditionally driving has gone down for people who are over age 60. That may still be true comparatively, but "going down" for boomers still means a whole lot more miles being driven than it did for previous generations.
