The election in France this weekend was huge - - for democracy, and for the 21st century.
The new President, Emmanuel Macron, called it "democracy revitalized." And a BBC guest said the election was "modernity versus the past," with modernity winning of course.
I remember in 2011 when recall activists in Wisconsin held back the Tea Party, causing that movement to go into decline. Now we may have another turning point for democracy and the 21st century.
