Peter Day, Global Business Reporter for the BBC, provided me with a great 21st century insight in our email conversation this month.
He said cities have more in common now than countries.
This is clearly true in the United States with 21st century cities (Portland, New York, Chicago, etc.)
In fact, with the U.S. congress deadlocked over whether to go back to the last century, or stay with this one, progressive cities are moving ahead with new laws, zoning, light rail, and more.
Just like 100 years ago, if you want to see the future, just go to one of those cities.
Thanks to Peter Day for the brilliant insight, and his reporting for the best news organization in the world, the BBC.
