There are 3 big reasons why train advocates should be optimistic and hopeful, I told attendees from three states at the All Aboard Wisconsin summit in Wisconsin Dells two weeks ago.
Here they are:
1.Recent events in the last two months illustrate that while change is very very slow, it comes all at once.
2.It is inevitable that trains are and will continue to replace cars as the primary transportation system for the U.S. in this century. Trains are replacing cars for economic reasons, and also because Gen Y has shifted from cars to mass transit.
3.By 2020 a majority of politicians in both political parties will support trains.
Nona Hill of All Aboard Wisconsin said the organization would like to support other groups interested in bringing me in to speak on trains, a most gracious offer. She can be reached at nonaghill@gmail.com
