Is the Confederate Flag Issue meaningless?

I'm glad the confederate flag came down in South Carolina, but is this issue meaningless?

Here in River Falls, Wisconsin, it's hard to find a confederate flag, but it is easy to find police racial profiling and harrassment. 

Our African American grandson, Xaiver, recently discovered some new fatty McDonald's product and tweeted, "It can take down more people than the cops."    

Translation: the kids are still worried about their safety, even without the confederate flag flying.
