As a white parent, I didn't see this coming. Julie says we should teach our foster grandson, who is black, what to do when the police stops him.
And given the racial profiling in our community, much less the rest of the country, him being stopped is not a matter of "if" but "when."
Our foster son, his father, has been stopped for no reason so many times, I have a whole file of "warnings" from the police for things that are not illegal with our car. As soon as our black son borrows our car, suddenly the car is full of violations, until Julie and I start driving it again.
With so many unarmed black young men being shot by police.....
