Basically, Gen Y understands that if education is fixed, everything else in society will get fixed.
A great New York Times story covered the story on February 11, 2013. Two quotes:
"Michael Graef, an 18-year-old who started a fitness business rather than attend college, said he rarely thought about the deficit. 'Education is top on my list,' he said. 'If everybody is better educated, most of the other issues can work themselves out.'"
"'Young people absolutely believe that there's a role for government,' said Matt Singer, a founder of Forward Montana, a left-leaning though officially non-partisan group that seeks to encourage young people in politics. 'This is not a generation of socialists. They highly entrepreneurial, and know that some of what it takes to create an environment where they can do their own exciting, creative things is having basic systems that work.'"
Basic systems that work. That sounds like a good plan.
