NineShift was interviewed by Editor at Large Jack Neff of Advertising Age this week. So we decided to throw out some thoughts on advertising in the 21st century.
Advertising will change dramatically, and so will the products companies advertise. First, the products. Two big changes.
1.Number of products and audience numbers change.
In the last century, there were hundreds of products purchased by millions of people. In this century, there will be millions of products purchased by hundreds of people.
2.Intangible products replace tangible products.
There will still be tangible products, like toasters. But they won't be advertised much, just like you don't see a lot of ads for firewood or spoons or stationery today. It's the intangible products that will be the big-ticket items worth advertising.
