The latest NineShift prediction: someone famous will be killed around 2015 - 2017. Here's why it will be a big deal.
Cars will experience a short spurt between 2011 and 2014, as smaller hybrid and electric cars enter the market. But overall sales will still decline.
We know that a. you cannot drive and work at the same time; and b. cars are destroying the world. That's why Gen Y is not buying cars, not driving, as much as previous generations.
But the tipping point - - we predict - - will be the third reason trains are better than cars. Cars kill a million people a year. No big deal, unless of course you are one of the million.
This month a graphic anti-texting video on YouTube is a hit, showing four people being killed as a result of a nice girl texting while driving. Posted by the Gwent police, it has been viewed 6 million times.
This will be the tipping point. Around 2015-2017, someone not only famous but important will be killed in a car accident, and the loss will be felt nationally. Instead of resignation, the public will express outrage, and cars will take a deep plunge in sales, never to recover.
I really like this blog, you are very good making them. I say that the issue discussed in this blog is quite interesting and of high quality.

If this clip doesn't change the behavior of drivers, little else will!
