Another great story in the New York Times also talked about the decline in US prestige overseas, in terms of the number of US court cases cited by courts in other countries. It is down substantially. And they noted, US courts almost never cite court cases outside of US as precedents or legal benchmarks. We're isolating ourselves legally, but more importantly, not learning from other countries, and they increasingly are turning away from our legal precedents, most of which are bad, looking at jurisprudence and court cases in other lands. All part of the slow, painful, decline of America that appears to be going nonstop right now.
