The battle over the legitimacy of Wikipedia is on. How do you vote?
At issue is the legitimacy and value of having everyone and anyone provide content, change other content, and generally provide information without a gatekeeper, supervisor or censor.
The Wikipedia battle is seen here in Wisconsin, where rival boat ferry companies crossing Lake Michigan have started firing Wiki-pedos at each other in Wikipedia entries. One says people get seasick on the other ferry; the other mistates how long its rival takes to cross the huge lake. Wikipedia had to lock out unauthorized authors from future postings about the two ferries. (photo of SS Badger, one of the ferries)
So, is customers-create-content legit and the wave of the future? Or is Wikipedia a nice but futile try, creating InfoChaos? Vote now! Tell us your opinion : :
