Not even train people understand how trains are replacing cars, and why.
This month in Minnesota a big step was taken towards high speed rail between Minneapolis and Duluth. Bob Manzoline, executive director of the Regional Railroad Authority told a newspaper, "If you can ride on a train for the same cost as to operate your car - - and be able to read the paper at the same time, we think a train would be the way to go."
Read a newspaper? Read a newspaper? Hello! I'll be reading a newspaper, but the vast majority of train users will be logged onto the Internet doing real work.
The message: rail people have to start thinking now about installing wireless high speed Internet connections on their high speed trains.
