David Anson

I took Nine Shift away with me on holiday last week and am still trying to assimilate it - - truly mind-blowing stuff.

I have had to try and look at it through 'British' eyes as there are two things different in Britain:

1. We are not so big. While distance is not such an issue, grid-lock is getting nearer.

2. The stereotypical get-up-and-go mentality of Americans is not as prevalent in us Brits! But then the whole culture of your country is really based on what was forged by the original pioneers and so their DNA is bound to be tied up in your culture. This is why I think there may be more motivation within Americans to improve themselves.

Everyone in our office is reading Nine Shift. My dean, Ron Valentini, has made it required reading for program directors, with plans to do a retreat later in the summer.]

I am thoroughly enjoying the book. Having based my dissertation on Everett M. Rogers' theory of diffusion of innovation, it makes perfect sense. -Karen Less, Catawba Valley Community College, Hickory, NC
