A new train route to Lima, Ohio, through Plymouth, Indiana, is being proposed.
Here's why this is news, and important to you.
First, I've never heard of Plymouth, Indiana, either. And that's the first point.
This is a train that will serve average cities, like yours. Like everyone's. Yes, it starts in Chicago and ends in Columbus, Ohio. But all trains in this century will start and end in reasonably good sized cities. But in between it stops in Lima and Plymouth and the train makes those average cities positioned for economic prosperity moving forward.
Second, the initiative and even first funding for the train is coming from those local cities on the proposed route. And that's important to you, because it means localities are now seeing the benefits to train service and seeing their own ability to start the ball rolling.
